The historical portfolio brings together Steven’s selected images. These two proposal extracts are additional source records for that work.
What the source establishes
Page 3 of the proposal describes these images as Steven’s historical montages and presents them as the background to his newer work. It does not name either artwork or give a date. These are source images, not a reconstruction.
The 2001 series
Up Here From Down There is the established title in the project history for Steven’s first full photomontage series, finished in Mérida, Venezuela, in 2001. The gallery preserves this documented series history alongside later historical work.
The proposal does not associate these two images with the 2001 series. The original files remain preserved.
