The Physics of Consciousness
Pudding Theory.
A framework for understanding how consciousness shapes the soft simulation of reality through quantum fields. How the internal state becomes external events.

Topological Information Fields
Pudding Theory is a speculative framework exploring relationships among spacetime, information and conscious experience. Version 3 proposes a hidden-sector scalar field, Ξ, and a mediating field called Lumina, Aμ, alongside possible mechanisms involving topology, noise-assisted threshold crossing and open quantum dynamics. It outlines blinded tests of predicted changes in physical outcome statistics. The proposed fields and consciousness-dependent effects have not been experimentally established, and the mathematical construction requires further consistency checks.
The following principles and mechanics preserve the project’s speculative and story-world language. They describe proposed ideas, not experimentally established effects.
The Ten Principles
The Hero's Override
Reality yields to the strongest intent. Some observers passively accept the world as given. Others generate enough force to bend it. Your density of consciousness determines which one you are.
Matter Remembers
Objects store intent. Everything you touch absorbs a trace of your consciousness, acting as a battery. This is why heirlooms feel heavy and new things feel empty.
The Vacuum Listens
Empty space isn't empty-it's waiting. The quantum vacuum is a sea of potential that responds to your input. Reality is ready for your instructions.
Chaos Yields First
Unstable systems bend easiest. Crowds, weather, dice, coincidences-these respond to intent immediately. Push where the world is already fluid.
You Are The Field
You're not a point-you're a region of consciousness. Your beliefs set the boundary conditions for what can happen to you. Change the beliefs, change the boundaries.
Intent Creates Order
Your focused desire generates Lumina-a force that organizes randomness into meaning. Strong emotion amplifies the effect. This is why passion bends reality.
Solidity Is Temporary
Walls are only hard right now. Given enough time and persistent intent, every barrier softens. What's impossible today becomes inevitable tomorrow.
Distance Matters
Your strongest effects happen closest to you. Your "vibe cloud" is thickest within arm's reach and fades with distance. Proximity is power.
The Future Leaks Back
Time isn't a one-way street. Your intent now can influence events that already happened but haven't been observed yet. The future and past talk to each other.
Coherence Multiplies
When groups align on one target, the effect isn't additive-it's exponential. Ten people focused together aren't 10x stronger. They're 100x stronger.
The Mechanics
VIBE CLOUD
Local Interaction Volume
Feel someone staring? Know who's calling? Sense a room's mood? That's your vibe cloud-where you experience being alive. It's your personal reality engine.
Your vibe cloud is the stream of experience arriving right now. It's strongest near you, but it brushes the pudding at a distance. Our vibe clouds overlap and interact.
Physics:
The Vibe Cloud corresponds to the local interaction volume of the consciousness field $\Xi$ and the Zero-Point Field. Within this region (~1 meter), your intent couples to vacuum fluctuations, enabling probability bias. Effect magnitude decays exponentially with distance.
Try it (60s):
- Widen: Notice the farthest thing you can see.
- Layer: Add sound. Feel the cloud amplify.
- Overlap: Think of someone. Feel the probability interaction.
PRIORS
Boundary Conditions
That thing that always happens to you? Your beliefs and expectations are probability weights tilting reality's dice. They're not just thoughts-every expectation you hold tilts the probability before the dice roll.
Your specific luck, good or bad, isn't random. It's your priors acting as configurations in probability space. Strongly-held beliefs resist change-they're topologically protected.
Physics:
Priors are the phase component $S(x)$ of the consciousness field $\Xi(x) = \sqrt{\Phi(x)}e^{iS(x)}$. Deep beliefs have high "winding numbers" that make them resistant to contrary evidence-like knots that can't be untied without cutting.
CONSCIOUSNESS
The Field That Shapes
Consciousness isn't made by your brain-it's a fundamental field like gravity. It pools and concentrates around complex patterns. Your brain is an antenna, not a generator.
Physical structures create patterns where this field concentrates. Your body is a complex pattern; rocks are simpler. But everything participates to some degree.
Physics:
Consciousness is modeled as the complex scalar field $\Xi(x)$ residing in a "Hidden Sector" that mixes weakly with ordinary matter. Its magnitude $|\Xi|^2$ corresponds to integrated information density-more complex systems concentrate more of the field.
LUMINA
Your Animating Force
Every emotion, every intention generates Lumina. It's the spark that makes you alive rather than just matter. Consciousness + Priors = Lumina ignites. This is why passionate people bend reality more.
Lumina arises from a symmetry: the conservation of information. Strong emotions generate more Lumina. The field gets its mass in regions of high complexity (brains), confining its range to about 1 meter.
Physics:
Lumina is the gauge boson ($A_{\mu}$) arising from the symmetry breaking of $\Xi$. It represents a negentropy current-a force that organizes randomness into order. Its finite mass confines effects to the local vicinity of the observer.
THE LOOP
Continuous Creation
Reality updates inside your vibe cloud as your attention and expectations meet the world. Lumina points the update; your priors weight what is likely to collapse.
PRIORS + CONSCIOUSNESS → LUMINA → REALITY UPDATE → VIBE CLOUD
Running billions of times per second
If you understand the loop, you can hack it. That's key to your work. Lumina doesn't inject energy-it selects which fluctuations get amplified.
The loop is governed by a Langevin Equation where your intent modulates the noise threshold of the vacuum. This allows low-energy brain activity to influence which random fluctuations cross the threshold into reality. Selection, not force.
OBJECTS
Collapsed Priors With Power
Objects contain frozen priors-probability patterns from everyone who's touched them. Some objects accumulate so much consciousness they become power objects. This is why certain things feel special.
Objects can become condensation points for consciousness. They're stable, so they hold patterns well. The Book of Houses is a power object because it contains the collapsed priors of manifestation itself.
Physics:
Objects act as localized wells of stability. They retain standing wave patterns of the Lumina field, storing informational imprints that resist decay. This explains why heirlooms, talismans, and "cursed" objects carry influence across time.
PUDDING STORMS
Focused Group Intent
When groups focus together, their vibe clouds synchronize. Concerts, protests, ceremonies-these are pudding storms. Collective consciousness warping reality at scale.
The key is coherence. Random crowds create chaos. Focused groups create miracles. Rituals are technologies for creating pudding storms. Ten aligned people aren't 10x stronger-they're 100x stronger.
Physics:
Group coherence creates high-amplitude standing waves in the Lumina field. When observers align their intent, effects multiply exponentially ($N^2$ scaling) rather than adding linearly ($N$ scaling). This is why coordinated group intention-prayer circles, meditation groups, focused crowds-reports dramatically stronger effects than individual practice.
TIME
Vibe Clouds Reach Across Time
Your vibe cloud reaches across time because your intent lives on spacetime's shape, not just in a single moment. When you focus, your priors warp forward-and backward-leaving a trace.
Shared focus can stitch moments together. A clear intention now can "prime the path" you meet later. The same can be said of going backwards-your observation now can influence what already happened but hasn't been seen yet.
Physics:
Pudding Theory operates within a Block Universe-past, present, and future coexist. Your intent now is part of the consistent history that includes earlier events. This isn't sending messages backward; it's selecting which history is real. Like choosing which path through a maze was "always" the right one.
EXPERIENCE
The Triple Intersection
Where does subjective experience actually happen? At the triple intersection of Consciousness, Spacetime, and Information-mediated by Lumina. You experience the update, but it can't be seen from outside.
The Experience Field is where the reality update is felt. External measurements can detect consciousness density, spacetime curvature, and statistical patterns-but they can't access what it's like to be you. That's yours alone.
Physics:
The Experience Field $\mathcal{V}(x)$ emerges only where all three domains overlap: consciousness is present, spacetime fluctuations exist, and informational structure is defined. This field is first-person observable but third-person inaccessible-formalizing the locus of subjective reality.
